Karly: Embracing her uniqueness

According to the dictionary, the term unique is defined as having no like or equal; unparalleled; incomparable. So, that is how I view and define Karly, unique in her own manner and style.


For this shoot, we met at D.st. Bar and Grill in Encinitas. When I arrived, Karly was sitting at the bar area having an afternoon cocktail and engaging in a friendly conversation with a stranger that was drawn to her charm, energy, and fun personality. Needless to say, I joined by ordering a Hefeweizen and having a few laughs. It turned out to be a party when Yvonne and Angela arrived and joined the fun, the other two San Diego Photogs whom I enjoy shooting with.

Karly is fun, outgoing, expressive, and very amusing. If you seek for an honest opinion; she will tell you exactly what is on her mind without restraints.

Karly was in the Navy and made the decision to get out after her contract expired to pursue other life opportunities, such as modeling. Recently, she moved from Colorado to California, and has only been living in California for a month. I feel privileged to have been one of the first photographers to take photos of her , since she is a delight to work with and has a bright future ahead of her.

As a final note: She shaved her head for a cause; that is why she currently has short hair.

Calegero and Veronica: Taking a Leap of Faith

Words are sometimes unnecessary to express a feeling, touch or convey a message. A photo is a moment frozen in time and tells its own story, to which we can revisit and connect back to.

That’s why this photo session is unique, it illustrates what couples experience when you seize the moment and hope for the best.

Ryan: The Guy Next Door

The first thing that one notices when you come across Ryan is his smile; which is contagious. He is full of energy, charm, smiles, and absolute excitement. I am most certain that wherever he goes, he is genuinely a nice guy and a breath of fresh air. Many times,  I reminded him that happiness is not experienced by everyone and it's something to appreciate and value.


Even though, I have no experience shooting at night, we decided to proceed and have fun... Yes, it's all about the experience and learning from it.

Kristen: Part II

During this photo session, I wanted to capture the light radiating through her eyes. They say that the eyes are the windows to the soul. Her eyes reflect love, sincerity, and beauty. And when she smiles, you can see the sparkle in her eyes:)
